Why Leonardo da Vinci refused to use regular pencils and instead drew with pure solid silver. This medieval technique is called silverpoint. When the silver stylus touches paper, it oxidizes and leaves behind an ultra-fine metallic line. But it refuses to work on ordinary paper. It only draws on custom sheets prepped with a special mix of crushed b
